We all have day jobs and families. Sometimes it takes time. You may have to spin the cams off time and then turn them at the same time as the crank to line it up. Are you actually hitting something with a metallic noise or are you just running into compression of the cylinders? Pull the spark plugs and see if it turns easier.

Then you may have to pull the heads so you can set the crank. Set the cams with the heads off, then put them back on.
