The problem with my 1996, 1.9Tdi, 110bhp is, it wont start after reading through the threads i figured audi gets alot of this :S. I goto turn the key in the ignition and nothing so i get jump leads to charge the battery up and then turn the key and its grand but wont start till i get the glow lead and actually touch it off the battery to get a spark, then the car will start im trying to figure out if its the alternator or starter because i could have a fully charged battery and put it in and all of a sudden it would be flat, does anyone know what this could be please?

 

Anyone have any ideas?

 

Huh? My head hurts from trying to read this...

If your car starts it must not be the starter, if your battery does not charge its the alternator. Any check engine lights?

the starter is turning to slow to actually start the car so i have to use jump leads to start it
