I found the problem, now I have questions!
ok I just pulled the stock turbo on my 2000 1.8 A4. The shaft was snapped, the impeller ate the intake scroll and made lots of aluminum powder in the entire intake tract, the exhaust turbine got destroyed, turbo main bearing cracked in half. I'm thinking a stock ko3 replacement just to make sure the car runs ok before dumping $$$into aftermarket upgrades. I also want to know about all the extra plumbing withthis car's turbo....I'm a diesel guy and it seems that there is a serious amount of emissions stuff witht this car. We don't have emissions here, is there a "of Road Configutration" that I can put this thing back together with to avoid all the crazy hoses? Thanks for any help, I just want to get this car running to see if it's worth making into a play car.
