Well F. As I was taking pics, and looking at crap, I saw a little white puff come out of that rubber thing at the back of the valve cover. Looked closer, thats torn. Still have positive pressure up there, and oil is still leaking from the cap. I'm considering a pcv delete at this point. On the upside, saw a mean s4 at college today. Then saw a new s4 on the way home. I sorta kinda held with him, so whats up with that? Are they not really that fast?

Picasaweb isnt working atm, so ill upload when i get back from work

Oil around the cap usually just means someone spilled while pouring it in.

PCV won't cause a loss of coolant unless you have a blown headgasket or cracked head or block, in which case you have larger issues than a PCV.

Pressure test the system with a coolant system pressure tester. The plastic blue cap is a two stage designed to blow off at excessive pressures. Common areas of leaks are coolant cap, coolant bottle, oil cooler, t-stat housing, back of head area, and radiator endtanks.

A stock 1.8T will not keep up with an S4.

Replaced the pcv hose today, and guess what? The ENTIRE system is clogged with sludge, which is probably causing the blow by from the hoses. Thank you PO for diligently doing 10,000 mile oil changes.

lol several times now with this car i've wanted to meet the previous owner and beat him or her mercilessly. mixing coolant, old crusty oil, original spark plugs at 80k miles....*slap*!

The dealer is at fault on this one. The lady I bought the car from has every service record from day 1, always dealer maintained. She just was doing what AOA suggested as recommended intervals

i had a coolant consumption problem. i found that i had a leak on my radiator near my upper hose. it was leaking on the driver's side top corner on the engine side.

keegan, assuming you're stock, there's no way you coulda kept up with a B8 S4 lol.
