if you're going to sell the 12v now and need another car. then i would find a 1.8t. you can find one in great condition with low miles for around 10k. and insurance and most maintenence costs will be lower than if you have a B5 S4. but not all. and insurance will go up on you..

but the main thing is. with the 2.7t, the stock k03's on it are ticking time bombs at any mileage. some only make it to 30,000 miles, and some make it to over 100,000 miles before they blow. and when they blow, it's a minimum of $4,000 if you want to replace them(pull the whole engine out which is dubbed at about 25 hours of labor. if you're upgrading to k04's(no fueling, software,or anything else, just turbo's) that's gong to be in the $5,000 range.. i don't think you can afford to have that happen at this point or any point in the near future..

but stg3 S4's are oh so fun!

 

The thing is, I dont want to spend 10K on a car only to have to mod it some more to make it go somewhat fast. I just want a car that's gonna cost 12,000 that has low miles and has a nice amount of power.

 

your not gonna find a low millage B5 S4 for 12k, at least I haven't found one yet.

 

if you find one for less than 12k with less than 100,000 miles let me know because its near impossible
