Default Cracked vacuum elbow next to what looks like the suction pump

I had a guy who knows Audis that I found on craigslist come over and take a look. He found a cracked elbow sucking air and its right next to what looks like the suction pump people were talking about here. Since its a stealership part, I duct taped it for now till I can go to the stealership and have them rip me off for a new one. Car is ideling fine now and misfire is gone, but then it comes and goes anyway, so we'll see. His other idea is the ignition control module, but I'm waiting to see if the misfire comes back first before I order one on Monday.

In the pic, what I believe is the suction pump is the cone shaped thing in the middle and the elbow is the part to the right, now wrapped in duct tape!

He's up by me in the Hartford area, so it probably wouldn't be of much help to you down in Bridgeport. Maybe try doing what I did and putting an ad in the Auto Services section on Craigslist and see what comes back. That's how I found this guy. Maybe you'll find someone who knows a little about Audis and who won't charge an arm and a leg.

well...that depends on what i need done and how much he charges. So tell me,what has he done to your car so far? and if he did work on your car, what has he done and how much did he charge you?

I am looking for someone to work on my B5 but nobody from the tri-state area seems to be willing to work on my Audi on this forum.

I have no problem driving down to harford,as i don't have a problem driving to NY.

The guy who I had check out my car found the vacuum leak from the cracked elbow, that was about it, really. There's another guy I found in Hartford who sounds more experienced on Audis, here's his ad:

http://hartford.craigslist.org/aos/2275991924.html

I talked to him and he charges $50 to diagnose your car and then $30 an hour for labor and he has a Vag Com. If you don't mind driving to Hartford (I think he was in Rocky Hill) he sounds like he knows what he is doing.

I can't beat 30.00 an hour,though.

I told him i'd give him a call, once i get Audina back from the shop,i'll let you and the fellas on forum know how Audina made out, after her open heart surgery.

Ya, let me know if you end up going to see the guy in Hartford for $30 an hour. I would have gone right to him, but I found the other guy who works literally around the corner from my house, so I tried him first. I'm sure SOMETHING will go wrong again soon with my Audi, because its an Audi after all and I'll be in need of more help!
