Well as some of you may, or even may not know about my situation with the Audi, the transmission took a poop, so after spending a year in the shop, in and out of different onces since September 23, 2007. Its finally fixed .. woohoo TIP sucks. Well in the mean time i bought a BMW e30 325 5sp, painted it desert camo... blah. blah... but anyways... Im back now, yay. Question time.

The gear selector in the interior is busted into like 5 peices, the transmission shop wont pay for it and im done messing with them trying to get them to pay for it. The passat has the same cover (with tip mode) correct? Are they interchangeable?

yes totally do-able. the shops in your area must be full of ******** man. the stick itself is fine right?

 

nope the whole thing broke, its just left with a shinny shaft (heheh) looks like the grip broke. To be honest it look like they just ripped it out, the board is fine, thanks goodness, but I cant engadge tip mode due to the actual magnet peice broke off sitting in my armrest. I need a disassembly/reassembly diagram... cant find my cd

 

when i converted my tranny to tip I got my assembly from Chris at www.force5auto.com at a reasonable price just be specific in exactly what parts you need.

OOh and take a pic I can probly tell you how it comes apart if I see what you have

So you converted your 5 speed to a Tip? why did you do that?

 

no he probly converted his AT to a Tip, some of the older Automatics didnt have tip

 

Yes had regular AT converted to tiptronic
