Default Interchangeable Abs Modules?

Just wanted to let you guys know, I went to the junkyard and found a module that looked just like mine. So I paid the $25 and got it. My Abs light has been on and the brake light has been blinking for the longest time. I decided I'd try hooking up this new module even tho the numbers didn't match. Well, my ABS light is still on, but the blinking brake light turned off! I don't have a vagcom so I haven't tried turning the light off yet. Once I get it hooked up to a vagcom I'll let you guys know the result and the part #s..

In my experience there is no compatibility between ABS units with different part numbers. And you need VAG-COM to find the fault code.

With the ABS system once the cause of the fault is fixed the light will turn off automatically. VAG-COM can't turn it off.
