just got my 1st A4. runs like garbage, pleae help
Hello. I just got my first Audi. Its a 97 A4 1.8T. It has 120k on it. I drove fine at first when I got it today. I'll discribe what happened. Its a automatic so I put it in 2 floored it, then 3, 4, and drive. I put it in drive now, and when I drive very gentle it drives fine but if I give it any sorta hard throttle it surges, and jerks as if its like bouning off the rev limiter or something. If I'm at 40mph and go toaccelerate it the car is acting like the tranny is shifting weird or something. Not sure how to expain it but jerky and hard core surging. My friend thought i was hitting the gas and break back and forth ant the same time. Thats what its like. I plugged in a scanner and nothing. What the heck is going on? Could it be something with the turbo or what????????????????????
The guy that I got the car from had the tranny put in about a year ago. It has 20k on it. The car ran great for him. I will check the plugs tommorow too. I been doing some searches on tis and am finding tht the N75 valve is pointing towards all the same issues that I am having at the moment. Any ideas and where is this located?? Thanks for all the help.
The n75 is located on you turbo inlet pipe off the airbox. The n75 is the electrically connected solenoid attached to the pipe. Is your car all stock? Did you scan the tranny? I agree with hiword it could be related to tranny. If it was electrical usually you would get an engine code.
