No... could that really be the prob? I did look at it and inside looked like a plastic covered spring with hint of oil on the clear plastic? I didnt know about the suction test till I just read it

do you have a boost guage?
also try bypassing that gay valve seloniod under the intake manifold that connects to the DV with the little vacuum line, and connect it directily to the manifold. I had a boost issue, which was cause by that thing. i forget what the selonoid valve is called.
