Ok, so I've bought a used K04 with the productnumer: 5304 988 0015 that is the usual K04-15 right?
As I live in Finland I have some problems finding software for this...
I emailed MTM and their reply was that they have software for K04-2275 is this the same turbo? Their software required a turboback exhaust and injectors and would produce 232hp but they could not promise that it will work with my turbo...

I have also been in contact with dahlback. He could make a custom tune for me for 230hp. He also said that I had the smallest K04 and that there are at least 4 different K04 models that will fit the A4(and these are not hybrids).

Shouldn't I be able to produce atleast 240hp with this turbo?

By the way I have also contacted GIAC but they haven't got a chip for my ECU: 8D0 907 557.
They did have software for 8D0 907 557 N but I guess that won't work.

i couldnt find any info on a K04-2275, but just judging by the different numbers im going to say they are not the same turbo.

with a good chip tune on a stock turbo you can be making 230-ish hp. do you really want to go thru all this work (and money) for an extra 20 or so hp?

 

I found some website that sold K04-2275 but the they also called it K04-15...
And about the 230hp on stock turbo, that can not be done with my turbo because it's a early A4 it has the small K03 witch is only capable of producing 190ish hp maybe 200. So yes I'm going to go thru all this work but for 40-50 extra hp!

Is this the same as the K04-15???

 

All the dimensions of the inner parts of the two turbos seem to be exactly the same and the flow charts seem to be the same... hard to say when the scales are differen.
The outer dimensions is a little different but I can't se why software for the 53049880023(K04-2275 in the pdf) shouldn't work for the 53049880015(K04-2075 in the pdf).

 

Yep i finaly recieved my K04 yesterday and it's in perfect condition no shaftplay at all. (Thanks Yev, audizine)
Reguarding the software for the turbo I'm going for upsolute. I have read some bad stuff about upsolute but also some good so I'm going for it.
Upsolute is the only company with a reasonable price that has a program for my car. Dahlback and mtm for example both want close to 2000 for software!!

So if anyone have experience of Upsolutes K04 software please tell me how it is! And please no replies Upsolute sucks if you haven't tried it!!

 

you havnt checked out speedtuning, giac, apr or any of the other chip companies im guessing. ive heard one maybe one or two people using MTM, none using dahlback. the reason you heard alot of bad about upsoloute is because alot of people had bad experiences with them, why would you want to be one of those people?

what turbo did you end up getting? one that works for your car?

 

I got the turbo I bought 2 weeks ago from Yev on AZ (K04-15).
I have been in contact with GIAC and APR but they don't have sofware for my car because it's a early model 1996 european A4.
I haven't contacted speedtuning tough so I'll ask them as well.

Reguarding upsolute have you got any links to these bad experience?

 

Speedtuning actually have a chip for my car ! ! (a chip with a St2 Power Chip setting)
So speedtuning is better than Upsolute?
Anyone know what supporting mods is needed with speedtuning?
