is a k04 worth it?

i have a k04 w/ TAP tuning (tho i just sold it). the biggest difference is the torque. boost is instantaneous and it kicks you back in the seat, but in higher RPM's it falls off. off a dig, there were very few cars that would take me, but once i hit 4th gear, it tended to fall off a bit. i could chirp 2nd gear tho. and the only thing you would need is a chip and the turbo. the next step up from that is a GTRS. not as much torque and a little bit of lag, but topend is way better. but you need a new TIP, tuning, injectors, and turbo. fmic and exhaust are also highly recommended if you want to see good numbers. and a new exhaust manifold to get the most out of it.

thanks for the info. im not looking for high rpm output, just really looking for acceleration. couple things i dont know.... what is a TIP and FMIC? remember, this is my first audi (bought a month ago) and i am use to working on domestic cars so some of this terminology is new to me

TIP= turbo inlet pipe. it's inbetween the intake and the turbo
FMIC= front mount intercooler

fmic = Front Mount Intercooler
not sure what a TIP is... But if you were to go with the to go with the gtrs that you might want to invest in a new clutch also... Just a thought though, i might be wrong.

Stage 3 clutch minimum (that's if he isn't tip) If you're looking for minimal lag get the GTRS and supporting mods or an elim kit and call it a day. 28 series still don't have too much lag but are more top end and I doubt you wanna get into the 30 series.
