I will try to do that, maybe when the weather breaks a little.

I am not getting any loss in power, and the car idles strong and steady... No misfires or anything like that.

 

Check it ASAP, because if it's the timing belt tensioner you could be in for a very expensive repair soon.

 

I won't drive it until I check it... Thanks for the advice. Luckily I have wheels until then. I will keep u updated.

If I have to get this replaced 8is it a big job? Removing bumper?

 

Update - So since I don't have any good place to work on my car at my new apartment, I brought the car to get diagnosed. Was told the timing belt is chewed up and water pump also needs to be replaced.

Was given an estimate of $1100....

Is that reasonable? Keep in mind prices are generally a little higher than normal in my town...

$1100 doesn't sound too out of reason for a complete timing belt replacement, I'm assuming that includes parts? Normally the price would be around ~$8-900. It would be cheaper to find somebody and rent their garage for a few hours, it's not a very hard thing to replace
