Lock button doesn't work

Lock button doesn't work

I just bought a 1998 A4 2.8L. And I found out the lock button doesn't work. So I have to lock it with the keys. I did a little bit of research and I think it might be the central locking pump? Any help is appreciated.

do all 4 doors lock and unlock with the keys? Are you talking about the lock button on the driver's door or on the key fob?

yes i can lock/unlock with keys but the drivers door doesn't work.

If more than one door is unlocked and you lock the car with the key and all of the doors lock at the same time then your central locking pump is fine.

Door lock button not work

Did u ever find out what it was wrong? Mine is the same I can only unlock all doors with key.

If you press the unlock or lock button inside the driver door does it indeed unlock or lock the doors?

My button inside the car does nothing at all

If that button does nothing it's likely the central lucking pump. It comes as one big piece that youll generally have to find on ebay.
I think there's a slew of different versions so make sure you get the right one.
