Default Most boost throught stock a4

I was just wondering how much boost i can put through a stock 1999.5 audi a4 1.8t. I know that they have about 8psi stock but i was wondering what the limits are on it that I can do safely before i need to start upgrading. Thanks

if you go above 14psi (1bar) with no chip you get put into limp mode automaticly, which cuts the boost to 5psi untill you reset your ecu. i know cincytt manged to get over 20 psi with no chip, so he can chime in on exactly how. im sure it required alot of tweaking and probably programming stuff with vagcom. but with a chip you can get 20-22psi with a very crappy powerband by turning up your MBC. thats about the limit with a k03. anything over 20psi and you are really pushing the turbo to its limits.

possibly- i didnt know what year the car was, just that it was a B5. well if your car is 1999 and below, 14psi is your limit unless you want to reprogram your ECU with vagcom or find a way to keep your car from finding out your running more then 14psi. but if you do that your going to have to adjust your fuel injection times, ignition timing and other things to make your car not run lean and explode under that much boost.
