just got a vag com the other day,

ran a scan and came up with 12 faults

00515 - Camshaft position sensor

17735 - Knock-Control: Cylinder 3: Regulation Limit Exceeded

These are the two most disconcerting faults Im looking to rectify immediately.

Any Suggestions?

(yeah I did google the two codes but came up with nothing)

 

First step, as always, is to write down the codes so you know what they were, then clear them and troubleshoot the ones that come back.

 

is the car giving you any trouble? these codes could just be stored in memory and will be gone once you clear them

what both these guys said. write down what you have, clear them all, see what comes back, then worry about those.

When I did my first scan there were codes stored in there that were SEVERAL years old.

 

yeah the car is giving me a little trouble. motor sound unbalanced and "rattly", Im a assuming its a timing issue.

oh, well i guess i should get a vag com licensed version (mine is shareware) so I can clear the codes.
