That was a mistake IMO. you could have just done the boots now your buying an axle. The empi and other AM axles are junk. I much prefer the factory ones. So if your buying those it cost butt loads.

No, even back a few months ago I had no idea how long the boots had been ripped open for so I would have replaced the axle's back then as well. It was just either do it back when I bought the car or wait until they really needed to be done. I put $1400 into it right at the start so I decided to wait until they really needed to be done which looks like it will need to be before the end of the year.

Probably got one of the last washed in before it starts to get really cold. Going to use ICE spray detailer through the winter and see how that works.

I used Invisible Glass on my windshield for the first time and WOW. It looks like I'm looking through a new windshield. Highly recommend it if you haven't tried it. Got a big bottle for under $4 at auto zone. Also says its safe for tinted windows but I don't trust anything on my tints.

The only time you need to add more braking power is if you added more weight to your vehicle or you are using it much more vigorously. If you drive normally most of the time with some "fun" then a brake upgrade is a waste of time and money IMO
I respectfully disagree. I think for how much these cars weigh they were under-braked from the factory. The A8 rotors and TT carriers are what should have come on it in the first place. I pieced together the A8/TT kit on my avant for under $200. For the improvement in braking, I'd call that worth every penny. $3k six piston Brembos for a DD on the other hand, are a waste of money.

Debadge the back and keep the rings, or keep it as is with the A4 & 1.8T?

I kept the rings and removed everything else. Then added a German flag badge to cover up the shadow and paint lines from the previous owner

Finally decided to debadge the trunk today. 50/50 on how I like it, I know most people prefer it debadged. I think a majority of "car people" debadge their car, just something I noticed. Also re plasti dipped the rings on the trunk to black, I just don't like chrome.

I put them back on the next day hahaha. It just didn't look right to me and there was a fair amount of "ghosting" from the 1.8 on the right side that I couldn't get to my liking
