Hey everyone! so i'm checking out an 97 a4 quattro 5 speed the car is in good shape... but, the transmission won't go into any gear! i've searched the forum a bit but, i haven't found any answers yet. im wondering if it could be a clutch problem. the pedal feels good (firm and no leaks) also no leaks outside. it runs good and everything else seems fine.

I just replaced my Transmission because syncros were bad and it wouldn't go into 1rst 2nd and R. Found out that the clutch was bad and thats why it wouldn't go into gears the pressure plate was sticking to the clutch. I got the transmission for $325 only 80000 miles the clutch is going to cost me $600 that is going to wait till summer.

 

geez one reply... well thanks for the info! yeah i think it might be the clutch but im not 100%. i'm just trying to move on this car before its gone iv'e been wanting a a4 quattro for a few years now and have a chance to trade my camaro for it.
