Talking In need of some info

Hi All,
When I purchased my a4, my tech said that the car was chipped, but offered no more info. I would like to find out how to go about identifying the chip and checking to see if it needs tuning. Can anyone outline any steps or advice? I appreciate it!

Remove your ecu, a lot of times tuners will put a sticker on the ecu caseing or the chip itself. If not, you need a boost gauge

When you pop open the hood, you'll see a box, possibly with a picture of an umbrella, right in front of the drivers side windshield. It's held in by ~6 bolts. Remove them and undo the clip under, your ecu is the silver box. To check the chip open it up (unscrew the four bolts) and look for a sticker that will say: Some random tuner name, Stage 1

Well folks, I located the ECU, thanks Pb, now I have to figure out how to get to it. I 'll start scanning for DIY's or do anybody have a link? Thanks!

What do you mean get to it? Just unscrew the bolts, remove the cover, and it's right there. Now that I think about it, since your a facelifted a4 you will be able to see boost numbers using vag-com (assuming you have it, if not get it. A cheap Chinese $7 will work for most things)
