Nice! Hell once you get the hang of your car and assuming you have a good set of tools, you can bang most of those out in a weekends worth of work.

Default Just bought '98 A4 Quattro avant

Just bought on eBay. 100k miles. Tranny problems. Sending directly to AAMCO. Should be worth it, I paid $1025.

Do you like your new Audi?

-I love it.

How long have you owned it?

- 3 years, I know its not new to me anymore, but this forum is and this seemed like an OK place to start.

Why did you decide to buy one?

- Frankly i got sick of wasting my friends time driving me around an unfamiliar city looking for good cars, this one caught my eye so i said "Screw it, I'm going with that." Best snap decision I've ever made.

Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?

- A few, I considered Nissan Silvia, Skyline, Honda Prelude, Various BMW's, and a Lexus SC400 before finding the car i own now.

Two weeks ago I got a '01 A4 Quattro. It is actually my 3rd Audi (I also had a '79 5000 and an '88 90) and so far it hands down the best. I'd been looking to replace my Ford Explorer with something smaller and with lower miles for a coupla months and I had been looking at a variety of other cars including VWs, Subarus, Saabs (in fact I also picked up an '01 Saab 9-3 several months ago as a sort of project), and even an old Jaguar XJ-6 at one point. Other than being a lot smaller than I'm used to, this car was everything I was looking for. I am actually finding that I kinda like driving again!

Had this 1996 Audi A4 B5 3 years now, but checking in now with this forum

Do you like your Audi?

-I love it, in fact I had another one exactly the same but in Malaysia

How long have you owned it?

- 3 years, it is not new to me anymore, but this forum seemed like the perfect place to get to know this car better. with all the problems we've encountered over the years and that hasn't stopped.

Why did you decide to buy one?

- I thought I'd try something that was cheap to buy at the time and bcoz no one else had one. But once I did drive her I was hooked...she felt solid and handled so much better than the previous cheap cars I had.

Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?

- A few, nothing worth mentioning though.

Do you like your new audi? Oh YES!

How long have you owned it? Just over a month. Although this is my 3rd B5 A4.

Why did you decide to buy one? Loved my previous 2, "needed" to get back into another Audi.

Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the Audi? You mean there are cars besides Audis?

Light Silver 2000 A4 1.8TQ 5sp with 130K on the odo. It's got a few issues, like the typical LCD, and I think the ABS module is bad, probably motor and/or trans mount, it needs a few minor maintenance items too. But otherwise seems to be pretty solid and definitely fun to drive!

Do you like your new audi? Very fun ride after I get it started.

How long have you owned it?8 hours...

Why did you decide to buy one? I was looking to build another production class rally car and this car was a deal that feel into my lap at work for $300, so really a no brainer.

Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi? I was looking at another Focus SVT for the build but those are getting hard to find in the right condition

Do You Like Your Audi?

Yup, not too shabby! I love a small, classy looking car - and I've always found Audi's logo to be beautifully elegant.

How Long Have You Owned It?

Just about a year! Bought it for 2,200 with 180k miles - which I now see was a little pricey. Previous owner insisted it was a super clean car. He had the water pump and timing belt replaced recently, and maintained everything well. Of course, a few days after buying it I had I had to put $1,300 into it (bad control arm bearing(?), new tires, new brakes, and some smaller fixes). Few months ago had to replace the oil pump too because of high pressure and pools of oil under my car. lol - now I got a bad Cat converter and a horrible coolant leak...

Why Did You Decide To Buy One?

Was looking for a temp car to last a year or two until I could finance something new. Budget was around 2k and it was just so pretty...

Was There Another Vehicle You Were Thinking About Buying...

Not really - was just Craiglist surfing. My wife thinks I should have gone with something like a Honda which is probably true, although I tell myself that with a 2k budget, any car I got would have had similar issues.

I know nothing about cars, but I'm sort of learning...slowly! =P

Speedometer sticks and doesn't go above 57 MPH
Cruise control doesn't work (I assume for the above state speedo. problem)
needs driver door lower trim piece
needs tint
NEEDS center console re-engineering
then, paint pimps?
