Only half correct. What you are referring to is the "input shaft seal" what jimmy posted is the "output shaft seal". The input shaft seal requires dropping of the tranny and removing the tq converter. More than $500 at a shop I'm sure.

Well... I might not even be leaking tranny fluid. The marks on my garage floor, which is porous concrete, are gradually fading away. I also now know after a trip to mechanic that my coolant is leaking when pressurized. Whether it's my water pump or a leak in the hose, I can't tell. There is no leak on the outer input shaft. I struggled to find the source of leak though. Still looking...

So you took it to a mechanic and they can't figure out where it's coming from?

Actually the buyer (who wanted my car bad), took it to his mechanic and he put a pressure pump on the coolant res. and all hell broke loose under the car. He didn't check anything else and claimed I needed a water pump and the timing belt isn't even changed. I was like FU it was all done last year and left. I came back home, jacked the car up, tried to find the leak myself but couldn't. Also, since getting the car 1K miles ago, I get a strange vibration between 3.7K-4.3K, in every gear. I don't know if its the engine, tranny or diff.

A - he wouldn't be able to tell if the belt was changed unless he was the one to do it
b - and it wouldn't be your tranny if its every gear, rear diffs usually clunk or make a noticeable sound. does it shift hard? do you feel the rock of the drive train moving excessively when letting on and off the gas?

Doesn't shift hard, no clunks, no jerks. Sounds like running over fine rumble strips.

Hard to tell, but I'd say from upfront.

To recap:

1. RPM surge by about 200rpm when changing into 4th or 5th. The higher revs in previous gear, the greater the surge. No jerks, smooth changes, but it feels like the clutch isn't completely pulling in, or the revs aren't dropping as much. No such problem if I take my foot off the pedal and then change gear.

2. Vibrations from upfront in the 3.7-4.5K range. Also does it when reving at a stop, but not as apparent.

3. Tranny fluid + filter was replaced but didn't do jack lol.
