Is this normal for the auto tranny?
98 b5 a4 2.8Q auto w/ 115K.
When shifting into 4th, and with the gas pedal held constant, I notice an upward RPM surge of up to 300rpms before the gear is engaged. The same happens going from 4th to 5th. The first 3 gear changes are silk smooth no matter what speed the car is travelling at.
I would like to know if it's normal for the car to do the above, or should I be concerned?
Thanks
