Not a new Question... Gas Mileage?
ORIGINAL: UpstateNYA4
There are some existing threads out there about this (use the search feature and look for "gas mileage" and you'll find them) but the quick answer is the 2.8 gets so-so mileage in town (18mpg or so) but on the highway at steady cruising around 70mph or so, it's common to see 30+ on that car. The 1.8T from what I know actually does slightly worse, most likely a combination of a smaller, less-powerful engine trying to move a car that's not a lightweight, and the fact that turbos require fuel enrichment beyond what a similarly-sized NA car would require. Then of course, most of the 1.8T guys are chipped and running elevated boost (and probably getting into the boost quite a bit) so their mileage suffers for it. Not that the tradeoff isn't worth it...
