Oil Change.....Problem
I just bought an 01 a4 1.8t.....the previous owner had all his maintainance done at the dealership so they used conventional oil. I'm supposed to change now or just keep using conventional??

How many miles are on it? Kind of odd for the dealership to use conventional when it's suppose to be synthetic. If you're over 100K it's best to keep going that way. These cars have sludge build up problems, and most synthetics have detergents in them that can brake any sludge lose and cause problems.

the car has 132k miles on it. He told me that he just went to the dealership everytime he did oil change....but the last like 8 -9 changes he did conventional oil...if im going to use conventional which one should i use??

10w40 will be fine, especially in FL. You can convert to synthetic any time. If you're worried about it, do an AutoRX cycle. I recommend:
-Amsoil 5w40 European
-Mobil 1 0w40
-Pennzoil Platinum 10w30
-Castrol Syntec 0w30 European Formula
-Amsoil 5w40 European

Are you running a finely tuned, low mileage race engine? If not, that's a terrible, stupid idea. Let's throw thick oil in an engine that has sludge problems! YEAH!
