Default oil temp?

not sure whats goin on yet, first time i started looking into it, dash temp jumps two notch's no matter if its hot or cold engine, and doesn't move. Ive read that in the oil pan there is a oil level sensor but i wasent able to find out if its both level sensor and temperature. anybody have this happen?

engine code is ATW and its 2000 audi a4 b5 model 1.8t

If I recall right the oil temp sender is on the oil cooler - someone please chime in and confirm it or correct it.

Look for the right part on ecs tuning. Im damn near positive the temp sender is near the pressure sender on atw's, positive it is on aeb's. The only Audi b5 1.8 with a temp sender in the pan is awm engines.
