Default Ok, only 8 codes left to figure out! Give me some help

Ok, here is the story.....

A laddar fell off a constuction truck and i couldnt avoid it and drove right over it ripping the catalytic convertors off and messing up the exhaust since my car is lowered. Exhaust was dangling at the scene of the accident so the o2 sensors had to be clipped for the exhaust to come off so the car could move. Long story short.....insurance totaled the car and I bought it back cause there was nothing wrong with it. I put new exhaust on it.

Now I have 8 codes. 4 are for o2 sensors even though all 4 of them were replaced with new ones.

The other 4:

P1435
P1421
P1425
P1472

All of them are short to grounds. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this car? They are starting to drive me crazy. I assume it has something to do with the o2 sensor harnesses since that is what was damaged to begin with but I fixed that and i have checked back over it several times to make sure.

The car is a 98 A4 2.8, 5 speed.

If anyone has any ideas let me know......

the stickies are your friend. you should have read them before your first post. the 'modification & maintenance' sticky has just about all the diagrams you need in the very first link in it.

those codes are all related to the evap system, not to the O2 sensors, though i couldnt tell you specifically because you failed to give us those codes. clear them all and see which come back. none of the listed codes are especially dangerous to anything, they are for emissions only.

Quit looking at the O2 harness and look around the underside some more.. there is a harness with chewed up wires in it. Cant tell you where its at though..

Yeah, this is for my A4, not my old A6, I sold that car.

Yeah i figured that a harness is chewed up somewhere but I cant find it. I guess I will get under it again and see if I can find a spot on the wiring diagram that would cause all of these codes to come on.

.. Was only trying to break the appearent 'fixation' we all seem to get when searching for problems.. "I cant find it and looked 30 times! But it must be this... just has to be"

A common place for wiring harness problems is under the front bulkhead, the bottom of the bulkhead is sharp and tends to wear through the protective wiring covering.
