Please HELP! Terrible Ride!
So after my girlfriend has been driving my 97 A4 for a couple months (not saying it's her fault.... ok it probably is lol) the car has a terrible ride. It bounces almost out of control over dips in the road, turns, speedbumps, etc. ESPECIALLY in the rear. I assumed the shocks were shot since my girl is terrible at avoiding road obsticles. So I took it to a Les Schwab Tire Center (local here in the Northwest they also do shocks) to get it checked out and they said that the shocks/struts and everything is fine.
Are they simply wrong? Or could there be another problem besides shocks/sturts causing it to bounce? It has the sport suspension but now is aweful to drive!
Let me know your thoughts!
Thank you!

my thoughts are:
firstly, the mechanic should have driven the car around the block then given his opinion because clearly you have a problem with your A4 thats significant enough to post on a forum to try and get some advice.
by your description, it sounds like the shock absorbers to me, just take it to another workshop, if they say the same thing, take it to an Audi dealer workshop.
In my experience mechanics tend to give the "Everything is fine" line when they are either to busy to fix your problem or they don't know how to fix your problem.

Thanks for the reply! After doing some research I'm thinking it must be the rear shock absorbers.
Since I have a sport suspension do I need to get a special kind of shock absorber?
And is this something I can do myself? I'm pretty car savvy.
Thanks!
