Default Please tell me why I should or shouldn't.

I'm about to take the plunge-- again! In 1997, I had the first A4 (a 2.8) in my city at the time. I loved that car and it was trouble free. I had to get rid of it 2 years later. 10 years later, new city, and I'm about to do it again!

This time, it's a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro Avant, less than 68,000 miles, mostly city driven by a lady, and well maintained. It had the O2, MAF and SAP replaced under warranty-- more than once. Also the timing belt, tie rods, etc.-- the usual Audi things. The price is good.

I intend to use it to commute between 2 cities once each week, about 4 hours each way.

Can anyone think of a car-related reason I should not do this?

What would be the first maintenance items you would do in this situation?

Wheel bearings and possibly tie rods in about 10k or 15k if you lucky
I got 61k on my car now and need to replace tie rods and bearing very soon
