Default Post rebuild problem

2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 turbo
Purchased for a parts car for my first Audi 99 A4 Quattro 1.8
Realized there are three different engine codes and I purchased one not compatible for my 99
So I decided to fix the 01 1.8 turbo after my 99 was destroyed in a road rage incident.
Purchase an engine from LKQ refurbished and did a swap.
Not not that simple but long story short that is what happened
...

Currently throwing codes
P0351
P0301

The tires don't start move until I'm revving extremely high

This has been quite a learning experience and a long almost 2 year labor of love but I'm burnt out. extremely exhausted of researching. Trial and error. And beyond annoyed t with arrogant men mechanics that won't answer questions because I have *****.

Lol
Any input is appreciated..

First of all. I love the fact that you went with a 2001, but I love the fact that you're a female doing it on your own even more.

I think the first question would be, is it manual or automatic?

The second question would be, what's the old engine code and what's the new engine code?

.

It's a slapstick.

The engine I put into the car is the same code as the engine I pulled out of it.

The only thing with the engine code it wasn't compatible with my first Audi.

When I get home I'll check and see what it is..

If the 2001 you bought already had a AWM in it when you bought it, then everything should be the same. I have a 2001.5 with an AWM. 2001 is a tricky year, because they changed some things with the "face lift" and 2001 was the most "tinkered with" B5 Audi made.

What ECM are you running? The one from the 2001?
The codes you're listing aren't your typical VAG COM codes. How are you pulling them?

How does the car behave as you're revving it up (prior to wheel engagement)? Does it behave like an automatic transmission with a high stall converter, or is there absolutely no (drive-train) movement at all, until a certain RPM - and if so, what RPM does it engage at (and is it always the same RPM)?

Most importantly: Do you actually have *****?

Hi,

Does the car move at all on only the clutch. So put in first gear and slowly release the clutch no gas, should want to move forward before it stalls due to no revs been applied. This will at let you rule out that the clutch is installed correctly. If it stays on then either the clutch is not installed correctly or the gearbox has some issues inside.

Regards,
George
