Default Problems getting her to start up

Ive got a 96 2.8 and today it was 8 degrees out, in which i wanted to start the the car. However, when i turned the key all i got was a rapid ticking and all my warning lights on the dash flashing simultaneously. At the same time all my interior lights started to dim. The car though, did not turn over or even start to at all. I had this happen before twice, I jumped the car and it started right up, but after taking the cables off the voltage gauge showed a full charge, which makes no sense to me... Help!

thanks,
Matt

umm I"m not that sure, it doesn't LOOK that new. I didn't buy this car from the most meticulous person, so i can imagine that its sort of old. But aside from these incidents, the car has a real strong turn over.

The battery might just be weak. Over time battery's break down (not getting into why) and the cold will eventually zap them. Prolly time to get a new one.
