I have a 2000 1.8t 5spd with roughly 85k miles on it. I notice when I use my A/C that it likes to automatically put settings on how strong the fans blow. The auto button is not lit up. But everytime I try to set it to like one bar...it will shoot up to 4 or 5 and it gets pretty annoying. Any suggestions?

I also got my car chipped two weeks ago =)

OMG!! Just like a brand new car. I have a CAI and forge DV upgrade and when I was driving next to a guy in a Civic, he pulled up to me at the light and said, "nice blow off valve." I just smiled hah..I love hearing the turbo spool and the divverter valve give off that whoosh noise...so yea...one happy camper

 

congrats on the chip upgrade.

if you wanna control your vents, then you gotta take it off auto and push the vent button, then you can control the input.

 

sooo.....what kind of chip did you get?

 

What temperature do you have it set at? If it's at "HI" then it'll boost way up there... but, according to the manual, if you set at 75* and hit Auto it'll take care of itself pretty nicely.

 

GIAC...I read the n00bie guide and it said that is the best chip for the b5. I also have a friend who got his Passat chipped at this place and he gave them good feedback.

About the A/C

I'll try setting it to another setting. I do usually have it either on HI or LOW...We'll see tomorrow =) Thanks

 

Yeah if it's on HI and you have it set on Auto, you're constantly going to have it high up. I keep mine between 69 and 72, and let it run on Auto.
