Default quick FMIC question

Hey guys, I'm installing my intercooler right now (2000 a4 1.8T quattro tip) and I'm wondering what you guys did with the secondary air pump. It seems to be blocking the favorable passage in which you would run the hotside piping through; is it connected to anything stock, or am I safe if I just remove it altogether?

Pics upon request if needed.

in before "lol do a search" GO **** YOURSELF!

I had to relocate the secondary air pump, it was a pain in the butt. I'm sure if you remove it there will be a check engine light though.
