quick Question about a mod..

Default quick Question about a mod..

i was searching threw the FAQ.. and seen this https://www.audiforums.com/forum/computer-fuel-systems-27/cheap-power-diode-mbc-boost-gauge-install-63234/ the diode for the map sensor.. will that work on my A4? its a 2000.5 1.8t Q M.

For shizzle. The diode will work as long as you've got a MAP sensor and a drive-by-wire setup.

And it's really wise to set up an mbc to keep boost in check so you don't overboost and either go into limp or break something.

An excellent point. I believe that's mentioned in the DIY that Cincy wrote up, but its pretty important.

So an older DBW car is SOL?

Well the diode gets spliced into the MAP sensor wiring, so if you don't have a MAP sensor then yes, you're SOL

Just make sure its a 4.3v1w diode, the 4.7 will still throw you into limp.
