Default Replacing a/c discharge hose

any help on replacing an a/c discharge hose. I mainly need a picture of the hose and i will be able to get to it. How hard is it going to be to replace? the system is already empty because there is a giant hole in the hose and all the refrigerant came out. thanks in advance for any help.

I'll play along and try some deductive reasoning. I think line 4 is the discharge.

Compressed stuff goes to the condenser up front, where it dumps heat to the outside environment. Then it goes past the 'high side' port 38B and into the car where it evaporates and takes heat out of the car as it changes state (liquid to gas). On the way back out it passes the charge port, which is really all I needed to know, to guess this is the 'low side.'

Am I correct?

Harts description is right on flow, but the diagram was hard to read, he meant hose #5 I'm pretty sure. The discharge side (low pressure side) is after the high pressure gas expands after the orrifice 6a into the evaporator (not shown) but inside the car by the heater core. The high pressure liquid turns into a gas and is then low pressure. If I remember correctly, low pressure hoses are always larger in diameter because of this. So, the low pressure hose #5 that it sounds like you may need is p/n 8D0-260-707-AJ for 319.00 retail and 237.34 plus shipping your price. Takes about 1.5 weeks to get to you once ordered. Possibly faster if you are on the west coast.

he was right with #4 I found out. I bought the hose and matched them to the discription. i would say that was a good price for the hose but i get parts at cost because i work at a auto center.
