I think the cartoonish-ness is the appeal. I'm getting up there in age too, but when i was 16-19, I would've loved drifting that thing around these Florida streets. Showing it off and swearing I had the coolest car in the world, while guys my (current) age just laughed and shook their heads. lol

I hate to admit it but way back in 1965 I had a mid 50s Volvo PV544 and came across a set of chrome reverse wheels and tires that I just had to have. The bolt pattern was correct but they wouldn't fit in the wheel wells. Solution. Tin snips to the outer wheel well lips until they did. Didn't realize that there were two pieces of metal making up the rim of the well. Looked like **** but then again it was a PV544 with chrome wheels and a Cherry Bomb muffler so I was totally cool.
