the piping is leading into the Turbo I think (it's from a jetta, so it's a transversally mounted engine) You would throw a code, I don't have coil packs on My car, so I'm not sure if there are any tell tale signs when you look at them, and BERU is not a German word I am familiar with, but many parts have some German on them because they are in fact from Germany.

Personally if I were you, I would just replace them all

pick of S4 coilpacks

hey a4speed have you ran your quarter?
and what is a heatshield?
evoheatshield is a phenolic spacer between the manifold and the head. it absorbs heat allowing the air to be colder going into your engine, thus making more hp. it also creates a barrier so that heat from the head won't go into the manifold, so you have colder IAT temps.

i have ran a quarter mile before, but only with about half my mods.

Could be intake manifold gasket too. First you need to do a compression check on all 4. that will tell you if its rings/headgasket. if all are within spec. then its something else like intake manifold or turbo seals etc. O btw when your cars not acting right dont beet the **** out of it. And when it first started misfiring you shoulda checked it.

that sounds like a boost controller, does it read the vacuum and boost produced?

when u install a boost gauge, if the vacuum gauge goes back and forth at idle, you def. have a leaking head gasket.

my CEL is on but I know exactly what is throwing it, and nothing is that important, except for maybe the thermostat, but that'll get fixed soon hopefully.
