I was wondering if anybody has the speed tuning chip? Has anybody heard anything good/bad about it. Seems to cheap to a good chip

 

Most consumers I hear are very happy with theirs, a couple people didn't have a good experience when they got the ecu back. there was either something wrong with there car or the flash wasn't successful.

You have to mail in your cars ecu, so you wont have a running car til you get it back, thats about the only downfall.

 

ah well i called the guys that do it and he said he could do it with a program like giac does anybody heard of that?

 

Care to rephrase that? Makes no sense.

 

sounds like the speed tuning guy is telling him he can chip it to be like GIAC (w/e that means) or he can chip it with GIAC.

 

idk, but their advertised dyno data is competitve with the rest. When I get a chip for the 97 I will most likely be giving them a shot if I chose not to get a used APR or GIAC chipped ECU.

 

Sorry that last one didnt make any sense but, i had GIAC for about a month but had it taken out. Could this affect or ruin anything on the ecu if they chip it with Speed tuning?

 

Did you "unflash" it or get a new ECU?

 

I have a speedtuning chip for 97 1.8t if anyone is interested sorry bout the hijack ...

I used mine for a couple years its a really good chip there is noticeable difference with the apr chip though. and I get better gas mileage with apr...
The difference is more about the initial onset of boost apr is a bit peaky in 1st goes from lag to full boost quikly causing mucho wheelspin with frontrak in WOT.
