So when my car sits over night or completely cools down, the starter only spins but doesn't kick out, this is only on a cold start, if I have been driving around it doesn't do this to me. What do u guys think? Bad starter? Or could it be another issue?

 

Starter spins but doesn't engage the flywheel? If that's what you mean, it's the solenoid. But i don't believe they sell that as a separate part. Its part of the starter assembly. You didn't say what motor you have, but for all the work it takes to get to that on a 2.8, I'd say replace the whole thing even if the solenoid was a separate part.

 

Sorry, I have a 1.8t with a 5-speed. And it isn't engaging into the flywheel, but after several tries it does work, once the car is driven it seems fine and when its warm it doesn't do it either. It seems to be getting worse slowly
