Subs + amp install
I'm planning on putting some in my 99.5 1.8T (non bose). I have the Concert audio headunit. Can this be done with stock headunit????
Want to make sure before I try to install and then have to stop half way...
If it doesn't work (hopefully it will but...) any suggestions on replacing?

You can do this one of two ways. You can either tap into the rear speaker leads and hook up a low level adaptor which will give you a set of rca outputs for you bass amp or you can buy an amp that has high level inputs. Either way you will have to tap into the speaKer leads. You are also going to have to find out which wire off of your harness is the turn on lead for your amp. I have a factory Bose headunit with a JL Audi 6 channel amp running MB Quarts and a JL Audio Stealth box designed for the Audi. It works and sound great and mine was an easy install since the Bose amp was in the rear of the car, the connections were easy.
I went to Audi World and there was a pin wiring diagram for the Bose system and that helped a lot. I don't know if there is one for the non Bose system but it can be done.
