Default suspension clanking in the rear

It clanks over bumps and its pretty annoying, Im thinking it could be bushings but not sure. Its a 99.5 1.8t with 145K on it, front suspension was just done. Any ideas?

Check your rear springs - mine were both broken and I was getting a similar noise. Changed them out and no more noise.

blown strut. either way you have to go in there and fix it to make it stop. so put something good back in it. itsa good excuse to buy something good

Same problem on my 01 4.2. Hopefully the photo works. Bought OEM springs for $260.

mine is due to rear upper control arm, you might want to check that. I was under the impression that springs rarely go "bad". The shock would be the weaker of the 2, but I can be wrong.

When I called the dealer for the part, he said they sell these all the time. In fact they were out of stock so they're coming from Florida. Its only a problem in the rust belt region. West and South should not have this issue. Of course the roads here are so frost heaved that probably contributed a bit tool.
