Timing Belt Problems! NEED HELP FAST
My name is Dan
I have a 2000 Audi a4 quattro. 1.8T
I was drivin down the road the other day, I had only got about a mile from my house when my car shut off. I pulled over to the side and had my sister crank it while I looked under the hood. All of the serpentine belts are spinning, you can hear the starter motor spinning too. My car will not start though. I have spark at all of the spark plugs, and I also have fuel coming out of the injectors.
I took the timing belt cover off and could see the timing belt and camshaft gear that it goes on. The belt is on there, although it dosent seem as tight as it should be it dosent seem like it would cause any problems. I tried pushing and pulling on the timing belt but it would not move.
When you try to start the car, the timing belt does not spin. All other belts spin though. I really don't have a clue as to what might be the problem.
Has anyone had this problem before? If so please help me, I really need to get it fixed asap
Thankyou in advance for your time and help

sounds like you might of stripped the teeth on the belt. dont know if you scraped your head i would take it to a shop and have them pull the head to make sure every things ok and if it is then youll need to change the belt and theyll need to get the timing readjusted bc if you where cranking it the gears are way off and need to be reset.
If the crank pulley is spinning and the cam gear is not, you've definitely got an issue and you've likely smacked some valves. Exactly how much damaged can't really be determined until the head is removed.
If you want the cheapest way out for the moment, replace the belt and tensioner and perform a leak down test to make sure the valves seat properly.
A Sick Boy said, check the belt for its teeth.
