ive looked there and called the numbers... i have two of them calling me back but no one has the BJ. it looks like its gonna be a tuff find. i called a place tht rebuilds them for 450 but the cant rebuild water damaged ones. so is there any other options anyone can give me? and if i find one does the module have to be from a 98 audi a4 1.8tqa? or could it be from a 2.8? and does the module have to be quattro?

Ok i ordered a tcm from ny.... it should be here tomorrow . but today i was looking in my car and i took off the tcm and this is wat it looks like (pic 1)
This is the connector(pic 2)
First ?) is it safe to put the new tcm on tht connector? or get a new connector?
second ?) How the hell do u get the front seats off? i need to take the carpet out cuz it is so moldy and nasty underneath....
third ?) How bad does this tcm look like?
Here are other angles of the tcm and wiring...

If it were me I would dry both the plug and TCM out real good and use a toothbrush with some
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ci_sku=7070074
After they were dry and clean I would plug them back in and try it. If the old TCU is toast use the new one. On my front passenger seat which is not electric. Look at the back of the rails and you should find a plastic clip on each side. Remove one screw in each and remove. Put the seat back as far as possible and theres a rail in the middle on the front. Remove the little clip holding the seat from going back with a pair of needle nose pliers. That should get you good to go. Slide the seat back as far as possible and it should come right out of the rails.
I hope your floor isn't rotted out like mine was.

Good Luck!

Audi of America/VW should pay for such defective craftsmanship, there is no excuse for that kind of design failure.

I'd call your local Audi stealership and demand some sort of compensation.
