Transmission question

I have a 1996 A4 2.8L Quattro and need to change the transmission. I found a 1999 A4 1.8L and wnated to knwo if it will fit. Both cars are manuels.

yes it will work your 2.8 will get worse gas milliage though and they both haft to be quattro
