Transmission replacement from a 99 B5 to a 97 B5?
I am thinking this will work...a 99 A4 Transmission from a 2.8 5sp will fit in a 97 A4 2.8 5sp...its all B5 right?
My 97 is grinding in 1st and 2nd and I have a line on a used one for 200 bucks. Figure I'd do a replacement.

yup should be a straight replacement as far as i know. im not positive about gearing since the 97 is a 12 valve engine and the 99 is a 30. the gearing could be different but its still an 01a tranny.
