Question Tried searching but couldnt find a thread..

i drive a 2001 a4 1.8t. So a couple of months back i swapped out my stock air filter for an hks super flow filter and ever since then my check engine light has been on. When i hooked up the computer to see what the code was it said the car was running too rich and maf input. The car has been running perfectly fine though but im over seeing that check engine light. Somebody please help!

Probably too much oil on the filter - the MAF is sensitive to this and quite a few people have had this happen. Wash the filter with soap and water, dry it, and re-oil it carefully and not too much. Reinstall it, clear the code (you'll need VagCom for that), and see if it comes back. If it does, clean the MAF, clear code, try again. If the code comes back again, you may have to replace the MAF. Filter oil has killed them in the past.

they sell MAF sensor cleaner spray. what you could do is let the filter dry in the sun and then put it back on if you don't want to get it rly wet

honestly get either a k&n filter or get AEM dry flow filter... it requires no oil or anything... mine works awesome
