I'd definitely clean it all out and plan on disasssembling it again after a few thousand miles to look for more shavings. Hopefully you won't find any. If your turbo is self-cannibalizing, you'll see fresh ones later on.

Yeah, let's just hope that those shavings are from the old turbo. I freaked out the first time I saw oil residue in the TB hose, since this is my first car with a turbo. I guess it's normal for the seals in the turbo to leak a little. I think it just gets recycled back to the engine anyways (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I don't think it goes straight to the cylinders to be burned up.
