lol well either way... is 17inhg normal? or like i said does it vary from car to car?

It does vary from car to car, I would do a boost leak check and go from there.

Every car is going to be different. A car with lower compression is going to produce less inHG readings at idle. As you go up in elevation the reading will get lower. Larger cams are going to have a lower reading.

yup its official i just installed my podi gauge kit and it reads less than 5lbs of boost it read like 4or 3 this sucks

ok update when i was on my way to work down the 605 fwy i was testing the car and after a while of staying on the medal the neddle hit 5 spsi and did not budge from thre other than that the car only shows 3-4 psi

Yes, you are in limp mode.

If you sum up what you have done to diagnose this already, you may get more responses.

sorry i tought i did but ill say it again

i made a home made boost leak test tool cost me like 2 bucks and also sprayed soap water on the hoses and clamps and no leaking air.

i removed the diverter valve pinched the nipple on the top and pushed up on the piston, it was stiff but still pushed up

checked around the TB to see if there where any little holes and sprayed soap water

checked all the clamps to head or see any leak also sprayed soap water

So, you don't have a CEL? Limp mode is usually caused by incorrect vacuum from somewhere and the CEL usually turns on eventually in this situation. Double check the lines from going to the DV and the FPR or just replace all your vac lines just for peace of mind.

have u by chance check for leaks to/from your boost gauge?
