upper control arms
hey guys i am geting ready to do my upper control arm but some mechanic said i need to measure from top of some plate 48mm to top off the upper control arm when they are replaced i cehcked the diy for control arms i didnt find anything that you need to measure for upper control arm

uhh yeah i think he's just trying to confuse you so that you'll pay him to do it. mechanics are like that, you always gotta be watching out because they'll try to pull your chain if they think they can.
just order a control arm kit and do it yourself, it's a pretty tedious and involved process but basically all you have to do is swap the old parts out with the new ones. fairly straightforward

The control arm bolts must be torqued at a certain angle... perhaps that's the recommended spec? Or perhaps he's suggesting you measure the upper CAs to see if any are bent...? I can't ever remember measuring anything while changing these in the shop. I just loaded the suspension with a jack, torqued the bolts, and hit the alignment rack.
