Yeah, I know. I just don't trust myself with a job like that. I completely lack the knowledge of how to do that.

No it isn't. Strip the interior, sheetmetal dash with only necessary gauges, single bucket-shell seat. Why? Because racecar.

Looks great - now you need the plate lights and reverse bulbs. Reverse bulbs are freaking awesome.

nahh - i gotta pump the brakes a bit on the modding. gf wants this thing called an engagement ring or something, and apparently you are suppose to spend good money on those. Xmas gifts too. And i need to replace an o2 sensor that i just fried the other night.

I did what i wanted to do to it. Maybe ill do an exhaust in the spring and call it a day.

My first post on this forum, but thanks to all for the wealth of info I have already gleaned lurking.

Past couple weeks have been busy with working on my 2001 1.8T Quattro which all started when I got motivated and cleaned and detailed it:
- new sunroof drains
- had the rear window resealed, original adhesive had let go, now the trunk is dry again
- recharged the K&N
- Mobil 1 and filter
- found a hole in my exhaust flex coupling, temporary clamp patch for now
- new license plate lights
- patched up the belly pan and reinstalled with new hardware
- new Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions on the stock 16" rims
- sent the cluster out to Module Master for pixel repair, just got it reinstalled today and it's decent, but the background is brighter and from an angle the display is orange instead of black like the original, overall satisfactory. The car remained driveable with the cluster removed, but all the backlit dash buttons were dark
- repaired the armrest cover due to broken subframe edges and lifting fabric. I trimmed the loose fabric and used a lot of epoxy to fix the broken plastic back to the original, then used stretch wrap to hold it all together for a couple days until the epoxy was nice and hard, turned out perfect.

Tonight I'm going to clean the MAF sensor in a bid to eliminate a pesky right-bank-lean code and install a new cabin air filter.

Finally I have a left door Bose speaker coming in from a fellow member and will replace my blown one when it arrives. With the door panel off I will try to fab a new door handle return spring from piano wire to replace the broken stock one. I had already reshaped the stock one and it works okay but the forked seat at the top of the handle pivot broke so this time I'll hook the spring onto the release arm.

Once again I could never have done all this with out the threads I researched here, thanks all!
