Well i was just shopping for cars, mostly carmy's *yukh* and came accross a 98 Audi. I test drove and i can tell you it was like the car was talking to me. The dealer had all the records (it was a trade in). Since i knew nothing about audis then, came back home joined this wonderful forum andmade my first newbie post, "How reliable are audis" lol... called dealer next day to only find it was sold. Since then i decided if i get a car it will be an audi. Then came accross my baby after a month of searching, and i knew this was it. The guy babied the car and it had low miles. Made him an offer and rest is history...

I had been looking for something new for a while. At the time, I was rollin in a 94 Ranger 4x4 with a 3in lift and 32in tires. It had been at the repair shop for a few months cause they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. And while it was there, it got broken into and my blown sub was stolen. I had drove a 5sp Mazda 6, and really liked it, but still wanted something all wheel drive. All my cars had been 4 wheel drive, going back to my 83 AMC Eagle (first car)! And one day, I was like, what about an A4? I drove a 2.8, but didn't care for it. I then drove the 1.8T and fell in love. Sometime in the near future I might have to trade up for a B6 or B7 due to size, my wife and I have started trying to have kids. Thats why I got her to trade in her Elantra[:'(] for the W8 wagen. I have been looking into a V70 R, and they don't look to bad to me! In other news, since we are trying to have kids we have been talking about names. Our last name starts with a W, so I said if we have a boy that his first name should start with a V. Get it, VW! Could get him little VW hats, it would be sweet. Anybody have any cool 'V' names?

I was looking in the market for either a Mustang GT, or a newer Ford F150, as both my parents are in the automotive industry here in Detroit. I was looking on autotrader for a car within 100 miles of my house that had a black exterior, had a manual transmission, and was under 100,000 miles. Only a few results came up, one of which being my Audi. I took a look at the car on the web and instantly fell in love with it, especially because it is AWD and winters here in Michigan get pretty nasty. I asked my stepdad to drive down to detroit with me and check it out, he was a little skeptical mainly because it was from a really run down dealer in Detroit. My stepdad thought it was either a flood car, in an accident before, or was stolen because it appeared to be such a nice car on the web for the price. We got there, took it for a spin and he admitted himself that it's a nice car even though he wouldnt buy a foreign car to save his life. We checked out everything under the seats to make sure there isn't any rust from a flood, and there wasn't. The next day we went back and bought it, trailered it home and the rest is history. Boy oh boy do I love my Audi, I'll never go to American made considering my stepdad's cadillac falls apart every 6 months.

I actually didnt know anything about Audis before I got mine. My girlfriend at the time and I were at a car dealership cause she was looking for a new car. We looked all around the lot and I dunno why I didnt spot the four rings until the very last second as we were walking out the exit. I glanced behind me one last time and saw the Audi and it just pulled me in with this weird magnetic energy. I asked to take it on a drive and loved every second of it. My car at the time was a cheapo Saturn, so the Audi felt SUPER solid and I could tell the difference right away of a well engineered and built car. Main thing that caught me first was the steering; the Saturn felt like the steering wheel was connected to the front wheels with rubber bands or something. That day when I got home I made a few phone calls and got a loan from a credit union and the next day I drove off the lot with me new ride. I think I got REALLY lucky, especially for not knowing about Audis before I picked up mine. If were to buy my Audi today I would've gotten the exact same thing. 2001 2.8 30V, Quattro, 5sp.Ebony Black with the tan interior. <33

My B5 was bought off an auction lot for my sister when she started driving. I was so pissed off. I bought an 1984 accord ($500.00)for my first car and my sister was *given* a 1997 A4 1.8TQ; WTF mom / dad? Well aftermy siswent off to college, finding someone to work on it near Wakeforest was too hard for her, so I took it off her hands. Anyways, I liked the car's appearance before my sis got one, but once I drove it I fell in love. Even though she's a AT, it was as if she wanted to be a MT, andshe shifted like it too, quick to down shift; almost anticipating the need for more power and truely happy to keep the revs up by holding a gear; even when going downhill. And it'slike that wasn't enough for her she just kept giving. The first time I heard the turbo spool, the first time a power slid through an intersection on wet pavement, just to name a few.

I fell out of favor with the A4 when Audi released the B6, the rear was just horrible. They fixed it a bit w/ the B7, but the B5 is just classic and imo. will look good forever, the sign of a true classic. I'm keeping mine 'till the floor pans fall out.
